It has been an excellent day for Australia all through bar, perhaps, the first hour when Jasprit Bumrah pocketed two wickets. Marnus Labuschagne got the job started with a fifty before Travis Head joined in with a quick-fire century at his home ground. His 140-run knock may well have put the game beyond India's reach. In the end, Australia took a 157-run lead with Siraj, Bumrah both taking four wickets each
In response, the Indian batting were done for by the Aussie quicks under the lights. Starc, Cummins and Boland all applied pressure and have been rewarded for their wicket-to-wicket bowling. Boland and Cummins picked two wickets each while Starc cleaned up Gill with a lovely inswinger. At close, Pant and Nitish held the fort and have much to do on Day 3. Unfazed by the fall of Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill, an aggressive Rishabh Pant takes on Scott Boland, hitting him for consecutive boundaries on either sides of the wicket.
Pant first smacked a wide Boland delivery to the extra-cover fence and then followed it up with an audacious pull behind square-leg to add 8 runs to his and India's total.
With those couple of boundaries from Pant, 100 also came up for India in the 19th over.

Rohit Sharma is given out LBW second-ball but Mitchell Starc has bowled a no ball. What a moment in the game!
A wicket taken off a no ball and it has been snatched away from Starc.
Starc bowled another in dipper from over the wicket and Rohit was caught in front of the stumps. Umpire Chris Gaffaney raised his finger instantly but soon after ruling Rohit out, he raises his hand again. A signal for a no ball.
Replay later also showed that Rohit got his bat down in time and had got the inside edge before the ball struck his pad. He he would have gone for the review as well. But as it is a no ball, no review is needed as Rohit survives.

OUT! Bowled! Mitchell Starc you absolute beauty! A cracking delivery from the fiery left-arm pacer and Shubman Gill is beaten all ends up.
It was almost an unplayable ball as it tailed in from good length just outside off.
Gill is undone by the banana swing on the ball as middle stump goes for a toss.

Dropped! A flying Steve Smith fails to hold on to the ball at second slip as Shubman Gill gets a lifeline.
Mitchell Starc fires in a quick good length ball outside off and Gill went after it. Gets the outside edge and the ball flew to slip cordon.
If there would have been a third slip, Gill would have bee a gonner.
But with just two slips and a gully, the ball flew to right of Smith --at second slip, who latched on to the the ball, got a hand to it as well but is not able to hold on to the catch.
Great effort from him!

OUT! India in big trouble now! Scott Boland produces a beauty and gets the big fish in form of Virat Kohli.
A perfect good length delivery at around the fourth-fifth stump channel from Boland and a tentative Kohli pushes at the ball.
Gets the outside edge as keeper Alex Carey grabs an easy catch behind the stumps.
A disappointed Kohli walks back for 11 and India are now three down inside the first 15 overs of their second innings.

GONE! Yashasvi Jaiswal is dismissed for 24 and Boland strikes off the first ball! In the first innings, Boland had dismissed KL Rahul on first ball, which was brought back for no ball. This one, though, is safe. Over the wicket, the ball angled away from the left hander and continued to keep its shape and seam movement, before changing course just a touch and picking the edge along the way. Carey with the simple catch. Australia have the momentum!

OUT! BOWLED! A cracker of a delivery from Jasprit Bumrah and Pat Cummins furniture is all over the place. And with that dismissal, umpires have decided to go for the Dinner break on the second day.
A searing 139kph full and swinging in delivery from Bumrah and Cummins went for the drive but was beaten by on the inside edge.
The nip backer from Bumrah hits the stumps as Cummins stay in the middle ends on 12.
So, Australia take another session as they go into the break at 332 for eight in their first innings and with a lead of 152 runs.

No bat and doing too much! A big booming in-swinger from Jasprit Bumrah and Pat Cummins is beaten by the pace and the sharp inward movement. The ball cuts right through him as Rishabh Pant takes a diving catch behind the stumps.
The Indians appeal for a caught behind but the on-field decision is not out.
Rohit Sharma sends it upstirs and the Snicko shows that there is no bat involved.
The third umpire then checks for LBW but ball-tracking shows that the ball is doing too much and is missing the leg stump.
So, Cummins survives a Bumrah thunderbolt!

SIX and OUT! A fiery send off from Mohammed Siraj as he knocks over Travis Head with a corker! Words exchanged between Head and Siraj after the centurion has his stumps shattered.
On the previous ball, Head had whacked Siraj over the deep fence for a maximum and the India pacer came up with a perfect response knocking over the centurion with a searing yorker.
As head failed to bring his bat down in time, the Siraj delivery crashed into his stumps.
After a heated exchange, Head walks back to the pavilion amid a huge applause from the crowd.
A masterful Head knock ends on 140(141).

A slight injury scare for Team India and Jasprit Bumrah. The India spearhead was down as the team physio rushed to the centre to attend him.
Bumrah seemingly was holding his adductor muscle which was not a good sign.
Soon after bowling the third ball of his comeback over, that centurion Travis Head dispatched to the mid-wicket fence, Bumrah seemingly looked troubled and uneasy.
He got down on the ground as the physio attended him.
After getting some juices flowing and a bit of a massage, he is up and ready to bowl again!

Edged but falls short! Pant Cummins gets really lucky. A terrific effort from Rishabh Pant behind the stumps but the ball drops just in front of his right hand before he spectacularly grabs it.
It was a 125kph full-ish delivery from Nitish Reddy and Cummins went for the drive.
Gets the thick outside edge but the ball doesn't carry. Pant dived to his right, grabbed the ball but it had landed just before going into his glove.

India vs Australia Highlights, 2nd Test Day 2 Border-Gavaskar Trophy: India reach stumps on 128/5 in response to Australia's 157-run lead on Day 2 of the second Test on Saturday. It put India still in with a 29-run deficit at Adelaide Oval in the day-night contest.
India lead the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy by 1-0 having won the opening Test by 295 runs.
The second day at Adelaide Oval also belonged to Australia, much like the first. Travis Head's whirlwind hundred (140 off 141 balls) put Aussies in command with Marnus Labuschange's fifty also providing decisive.
Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj both took four wickets while Harshit Rana struggled to get his line right.
In the end, Australia took a 150-run lead and had India bat under the lights which is always a challenge with the pink ball. And it proved to be the case. The Aussie seamers - Starc, Cummins and Boland - ran through the Indian top order and left them five down at close with Rishabh Pant and Nitish Kumar Reddy unbeaten at stumps.
Cummins and Boland picked up two wickets each and Starc chipped in with one.
